Oops I did it again!

2 weeks ago, I wrote an entry about me oversleeping. I missed work because of this. Now, history repeated itself.

Yup! You guessed it right. I overslept again, not once but twice! Waaaaaaaaaaa.

We were given a 1-hour lunch break (3am) and since I was really sleepy, I went back to our office to take a nap and didn’t mind my hungry stomach. I made sure I set my phone alarm to 45 minutes to give me time to prepare. I really don’t remember what happened to the alarm but the next thing I knew it was already 50 minutes past the hour (4:50am) that I was supposed to be back on the training room. I panicked since I don’t know what excuse to give the trainer. My colleague asked me to wash my face to freshen up and erase the sleepy look I still had.

So there, I went to the bathroom and I soon found my feet walking to the training room. I went in quietly. The rest of them were grouped into 4 and was asked to report some topics about IP Address, et al. I apologized silently to the trainer and told him that I overslept. I could have lied or something but I didn’t. I’m not really comfortable with lying. Luckily, the trainer is kind and just smiled and nodded “It’s ok”.

I came back 5 minutes before our final break, which we normally take at 5am. It took them around 10 minutes to complete the report of the 3rd group. I was still sleepy that time. So when the break was announced, I decided to extend my nap for 15 minutes. Whooola!!! I then woke up to voices I figured coming from people discussing. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! Shacks!!!! I was so embarrassed! I overslept and this time, inside the training room! What a way to be a role model to the rest of the class Doi!

I really wish I’d shrunk myself on my seat. I couldn’t move. I was just staring at the reporter. I couldn’t turn my head to check the clock and see how many minutes I fell asleep. Then the trainer gently rubbed my back and asked me “Are you okay?” “Yes. I’m sorry if I dozed off again. I was actually taking medications.” Those were the words that came out of my mind. I knew this time I had to lie (used the amoeba excuse). He then said that it’s ok for me to go out and sleep in our office.

What I hate was them not waking me up, especially the 2 girls who was seated beside me. The trainer could have asked one of them to wake me up too. No one woke me up! I know I should not blame them but I want to blame them! They should have been proactive and took the matter seriously. Let me ask you this – If you see your colleague sleeping and you know that person will get in trouble if they continue to sleep, won’t you wake them up from their sleep? Although I was not in trouble (none that I know of yet) I would have nudged that person to wake them up!

Huhuhuhu… I’m really ashamed of myself for doing this. I hope this will be the last since we still have a whole month to go before training ends. Tsk tsk tsk
