Dwarfs Gone Wild Introduction
Quickspin had quite a good run for a while with strong titles such as Sakura and Sticky Bandits, two games that caught the attention of casino streamers and casual players alike. Since then, the creative ideas seem to have run short and the same mathematical model appears to have been on a copy and paste. That's why Quickspin is in desperate need of a new strong title, especially with so many up and coming slot providers taking large chunks of the iGaming market.
Could Quickspin's next slot Dwarfs Gone Wild be that one game that makes up for the generic stuff recently released? Quickspin themselves actually calls it their "flagship title of the year" and "the most ambitious effort to date". Sounds promising, but we'll see.
Join Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs as they dig for riches underground in Dwarfs Gone Wild, our most ambitious game to date. Set deep in a mine shaft, the dwarfs each possesses unique powers that provide explosive gameplay with bonus features and free spins.
Throughout the game, Golden minecarts unlock special Dwarf features when the free spins bonus is triggered. Every win containing Dwarf symbols is added to the Golden Minecart Bonus meter, which is displayed to the left-hand side of the reels.
Dwarfs Gone Wild Setup
Dwarfs Gone Wild is a 5-reel, 3-row online slot with 20 fixed paylines and a 96.38% RTP, produced by Swedish provider Quickspin. It's playable on all devices from €0.20 to €100 and is somewhere between medium to high variance on the volatility scale.
Dwarfs Gone Wild Symbols
The game includes only 3 low-value symbols which are represented by A, K and Q. As you might have guessed the premiums are represented by the 7 dwarfs and Snow White, with the latter being the most valuable one awarding you 60 times the stake across a payline. There is also a wild symbol present with the same value as Snow White.
With 20 paylines, a full screen of the top symbol pays 1200x which we have to say is pretty decent, especially since this is possible to achieve with a combination of both the wild and the Snow White symbols. Add the x5 multiplier feature in the bonus on top of this...hallelujah.
Magic Mirror Feature
When the Magic Mirror symbol lands anywhere on reel 3 in the main game, the Magic Mirror feature is triggered. 300 additional Snow White premium symbols are added to the reel set and players are awarded 2 respins.
Golden Minecarts unlock special Dwarf features during the free spins game. Every win in the main game containing Dwarf symbols adds to the Golden Minecart Bonus Meter. An additional Golden Minecart is awarded once the meter completely fills. Players begin with the meter filled 75% and 1 Golden Minecart activated. A maximum of 7 Golden Minecarts can be earned. In other words, going into the free spins with all 7 features activated can be quite interesting.
3 Bonus Scatter symbols trigger the Golden Minecart Free Spins bonus and awards 7 free spins. The scatters appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 in the base game only. The number of Golden Minecart earned in the base game determine the amount of Dwarf features awarded. Awarded Dwarf features appear as icons displayed above the reels. These 7 features can randomly trigger at the start of each free spin.
Dwarfs Gone Wild Conclusion
We have to agree with Quickspin's statement here about this being an ambitious effort. The production is of very high quality and it certainly sticks out from anything ever tried by Quickspin before.
The graphics are instantly recognizable as the signature Quickspin art we're used to (which is not a bad thing) and the visual effects are really well made. The Oompah soundtrack is a bit fun too and goes well with the game. All in all, it is a very solid production and it's quite obvious that Quickspin has invested more time and a bigger than usual budget on this game.
These type of slots that allows for various feature combinations in the bonus have proved to be quite popular, which we have seen with the recent releases of Yggdrasil's Lucha Maniacs and Thunderkick's Wild Heist at Peacock Mansion, and it has been implemented well in this game too. It should be pointed out however that in this game only one feature at a time can be active which makes some of the features, such as the walking wild, a bit weak, almost pointless.
In terms of potential it's definitely worth giving a few spins as the right combination of features in the bonus theoretically can bring home 6000 times the stake on a single spin with the x5 multiplier feature. Only time will tell if Dwarfs Gone Wild is to be embraced by all the slot players out there, but there is no question about the fact that Quickspin has done a great job this time with both the production and the engine behind it.
