Last Friday, I went with some folks from the office at one of Cebu’s famous dessert hangouts. We headed to The Walk before midnight and went straight to La Marea, in Asiatown IT Park, Cebu City. Since I’m a sucker for cakes and pastries, I had a hard time choosing among all those yummy-looking desserts. My two companions ordered the warm brownie cup while I ordered the white chocolate cup. What influenced my decision? The price, being P95 (less than 100) and the rest of them ordered the warm brownie, so I chose the other one instead.

Actually, La Marea is famous for its warm brownie cup and I still find it yummy despite its being too sweet. I didn’t enjoy eating the white chocolate one since the serving size was smaller compared to the warm brownie cup. The texture of the “white” brownie isn’t also that fine. Basta.. I didn’t like it. Good thing was my other companion failed to finish her whole brownie cup since it was too sweet for her tonsils so she asked me to help in finishing up the other half of her cup ( i finished my cup faster than the other two since my cup serving is 50% lesser than the warm brownie ciup). I immediately obliged, of course!

Everyday, I tell myself that I will start my diet to control my increasing weight due to my love for food. I even thought that with my new work schedule, I’d start an after six diet wherein I shouldn’t eat anything after the clock strikes at six in the evening. But if you get to be asked to have dinner at Casa Verde, who could ever resist those ginormous slices of baby back ribs. I just wonder if the term “baby” fits the description of their ribs though.

I only brought P100 with me when I went down the ground floor of our building to meet up with Ed and his brother Dan earlier. I am already broke and the payday is three days away so I need to budget my food allowance since I have to pay for my parking fees too. I thought we were just going to eat at Chowabungga, McDonalds, Jollibee or KFC but Dan was itching to swipe his card so after debating on whether to eat at Roma Mia, Casa Verde, Shakeys or Mocha Blends in SkyRise, Casa Verde won over. So off we went to The Walk.

This is what they call Bryan’s Baby Back Ribs…don’t bother asking who Bryan is coz I don’t have any clue This is what Casa Verde is famous for. The ribs are really huge and it could serve 2 individuals. Their side dish includes a choice of rice, carrots and corn, mashed potato and I think fries. Not really sure though. This is really a highly recommended resto to dine whenever you’re in Cebu as you will surely go gaga over their ribs.

Then here’s another yummy treat from Casa Verde, their Seafood pasta (cooked carbonara style). Within those pile of pasta, you can find shrimps, squid and mushrooms. Wait. When did mushrooms became a part of the seafood family? hahaha.

I hope that my mind would stop thinking about food for a while so that I don’t have to crave for good food all the time. That way, I can work on my diet for once. hehehe. I hope temptations would stay away from me for the next three months.

Yehey! Finally, KFC in IT Park Cebu caved in. They are now open 24 hours a day, but only on weekdays to cater to the general public, which primarily consists of people working on BPO companies in IT Park.

IT Park, which is one of Cebu’s Business districts, houses buildings primarily structured for call centers and other BPOs. IT Park’s workforce mainly consists of people who work on different shifts: day and night and KFC’s move to operate 24 hours a day is just right.

After a month has passed since KFC opened it’s doors in IT Park, I guess the company finally realized that it will benefit their sales if they open 24 hours a day.

There are a lot of stores in IT Park which operates 24 hours a day. Among these stores are McDonalds at The Walk, Jollibee in the i2 Building, Ila Puti at the i1 Building and Mocha Blends in SkyRise. Other stores that are open at night includes Chowabunga, Breakfast Club and Bo’s Coffee. Roma Mia, Abuhan Tres, RaiRai Ken, Starbucks, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Da Vinci’s, Moon Cafe, Casa Verde, Shakeys, East West and La Marea are not open 24/7 though.

As for the stores in SkyRise, I forgot the names of the establishments since I seldom go there now.
