Red Ribbon Bakeshop Gave Me a Cake!

For the past couple of days, I had been contemplating on what cake I’d get as my belated birthday cake since I didn’t get one when my birthday came. I was too busy with work so I never got the chance to go out and celebrate.
But thanks to Red Ribbon Bakeshop here in Cebu, I no longer had to endure the hassle of selecting a cake since they gave me one for free! And I super love it!

Red Ribbon Bakeshop’s Chocolate Fudge Cake
I got invited to Red Ribbon Cebu’s product launching – Crispy Chicken, Chocolate Fudge Cake and their Black Forrest Cake. Before we left their Cocomall outlet, they handed each one of us a box of the Red Ribbon Chocolate Fudge Cake. I was totally stunned at the sight of the box! I didn’t see that one coming.
Since I made plans to watch the movie Eat Pray Love after Red Ribbon’s product launching, I made a quick stop over at our house to leave the cake since I cannot afford to spoil the icing and the cake itself. I planned to stab a long candle in the middle of the cake and blow the candle but when I arrived home, someone already beat me at savouring the 1st slice. With the cake’s enticing looks, it’s no wonder why someone already helped themselves with a slice of the cake.
Thanks Red Ribbon Bakeshop Cebu!
Special thanks to Xerxes & Ms. Abbey for the invitation
P.S. Will be posting more of the product launching soon.

*sob* Yeah. Sad to say, I’m not getting any younger but the good thing is I’m still someone I’d refer to as “wala gihapon buot”
And please don’t make me translate that in English since i can’t think of any. Feel free to do it for me, k?
And since I didn’t get to have have my birthday cake yet, I’m borrowing one online till I get my own, hopefully before the clock strikes 12mn later

today, i’m officially 30 years old
I already made a bold move a couple of months back. The future holds no certainty for me right now but I’m gonna make sure I’ll live each day knowing I’m one step closer to realizing my dreams and goals in life. Char!
free bobot candy for everyone!
Creating My Favicon
Posted on 22 October 2010 | No responses | 265 views

It’s one of those days where I try to be productive and set a deadline to stop doing nonsense things only to end up doing the nonsense things instead. And as the clock ticks, so does wasted time. *sigh* Anyway, I tried to create a favicon for the site which won’t involve photos.
So with a little help from PhotoScape and Photoshop CS4, here are two designs I came up with. I’m not sure if I like to keep any of these. But this will do for the meantime. I used PhotoScape to create these and used Photoshop to remove the background color. I haven’t started watching the Photoshop Tutorials I got from Verge so I can’t really do much with Photoshop yet. Don’t ask me why I chose red coz I dunno the answer too. hehehe. The other one looked like a bird and a magnifying glass on top of it while the other one’s simple. Aiming for it to look like a hand, feet or something but I don’t think I achieved that. I guess I’ll choose the 1st one since it is more clear than the second one. Here’s how they looked when resized to 16×16.
1st one –
| 2nd one -
Oh, for those who doesn’t know what a favicon is, here’s wiki‘s definition:
A favicon (short for favorites icon), also known as a shortcut icon, website icon, URL icon, or bookmark icon is a 16×16 or 32×32 pixel square icon associated with a particular website or webpage.
You can check my favicon on top of the address bar to see what I mean
And to apply it to your website, you need to add this following simple HTML line in your header section before this one – </head>
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://www.example.com/myicon.ico">
where the http stuff is the link to where you saved your image, whether in your website or somewhere else like Photobucket.
In my case, this is the HTML code I used in my site:
<link href='http://doispeaks.com/..../2010/10/doi1.png' rel='shortcut icon' type='image/png'/>
So, I guess I’ll stop here and better get some work done or else I’m gonna be doomed with those backlogs
Ciao!
halo halo at Julie’s Bakeshop

Halo-Halo at Julie’s Bakeshop for Php 55.00
Had a taste of this sweet dessert from Julie’s Bakeshop in IT Park last night. I’ve tasted this once, a month or two ago, so when a friend of mine asked me to share the halo-halo he ordered when he was in town, I declined saying I already tasted one. It was also a good thing that I didn’t accept his offer of sharing the halo halo since I think 1 serving wasn’t enough for him. He ate everything even to the last drop
– except for the bowl of course. hehehe
Anyway, the halo-halo at Julie’s Bakeshop now is far different from what I tasted last time. The crushed ice in this one is super fine that you wouldn’t even recognize you’re eating ice. There are also a lot of ingredients on their halo-halo. Cindy also mentioned that the bowl where the Halo Halo was served looked like one of those serving bowls at the Modern Toilet Restaurant in Hong Kong.
I really fancied Chowking’s Halo-halo but when my friend tasted this one, he said this one’s better. I know now what he meant by that. But one thing I didn’t like about it though is that it’s too sweet. I have a sweet tooth but this one’s beyond the sweetness I could take. I still finished the whole bowl though.

with Cindy and Ed, fresh from their trip in Malaysia; Ed, showing us their photos while also waving at friends at the other table
Julie’s Bakeshop also serves budget meals. I frequently hang out here whenever I experience problems with my ISP at home. This is a great place if you are looking for cheap food and free wi-fi connection. And the best thing is that they are open from 11 am till 3am.
We went straight here after fetching the “tourists” in the airport after their Malaysian tour since they were looking for a place where they can eat anything except chicken + Ed’s need to plug his laptop, connect online and show the photos of their adventures. Thanks for the halo-halo treat Ed!
Julie’s Bakeshop is located that the ground floor of the eBloc building, also known as JP Morgan and Chase building.
