Have You Seen The Latest Teaser of AirAsia.com?

Posted on 4 November 2010 | No responses | 868 views

We all know that Cebu Pacific Air, the Philippines’ budget airline, is known for offering budget fares for their domestic and international flights even to the point of offering Zero Fares to their customers. Almost everyone goes gaga when Cebu Pacific Air offers the Piso Fare or their Zero Fare and almost everyone tries to book for these low-cost airline fares online even if it meant staying online for 2 hours or more just to book a single flight. The long booking is due to Cebu Pacific’s slow website which could be attributed to the heavy traffic the site is getting during these times.

Air Asia, the World’s Best Low-Cost Carrier and the Airline of the Year for 2009 & 2010, is also one of the airlines which travel enthusiasts should pay attention to.

AirAsia is Asia’s first low-cost carrier. We believe in the no-frills, hassle-free, low fare business concept so that affordable air travel can become a reality. Through our philosophy of ‘Now Everyone Can Fly’, AirAsia has sparked a revolution in air travel with more and more people around the region choosing AirAsia as their preferred choice of transport. http://www.airasia.com/welcome/index_en.htm

I, for one, have also been waiting for these 2 low-cost carriers to reveal their most-awaited promo fares. I believe that Cebu Pacific will offer their zero fare either on the 24th or 25th of December ;) As for AirAsia, it could be next week! :D

I can’t really say if this is the much awaited Zero Fare AirAsia has offered last year but who knows, right?

Why not check their website and you be the judge if it’s the Zero Fare or not :)

Red Ribbon Cebu’s Crispy Chicken Meal, Chocolate Fudge Cake and Black Forrest Cake

Red Ribbon Bakeshop
Ever since Red Ribbon Bakeshop opened it’s doors in Cebu, their products never failed to delight me and my family. Every time we celebrate special occasions at home, we always buy our cakes from Red Ribbon. I can even remember the times where I had to line up during the holidays just to buy their cakes. That’s how popular their cakes are since they truly offer quality, great-tasting cakes.

Red Ribbon Bakeshop has a huge selection of cakes to choose from so you wouldn’t worry if someone from your family is allergic to chocolate or mango. In my case, my mom’s allergic to both so sometimes we buy 2 cakes from Red Ribbon to make sure she can eat her share of their yummy cakes. My personal favorite are Red Ribbon’s S’mores Chocolate Cake and their Chocolate Mousse. But their products are not limited to cakes too. They also sell pastries and meals. I super love their mango bars, cinnamon roll and mamon. As for meals, my favorites are their All-Beef Salisbury Steak and Honey-Glazed Pork Tocino.

So when I got an invite to try out Red Ribbon’s latest product offerings, I was really glad that I got to be one of the lucky few who was able to taste their new products. Ms. Abbey Tomas of protégé and Ms. Meyan Lim of Red Ribbon Cebu (VisMin) entertained us as we tried out their meals.

First, we got to try the Crispy Chicken Meal of Red Ribbon. The chicken is  marinated, battered and coated in seasoned flour before they are fried until they are crispy. And what makes this meal unique is the gravy that goes with it. The Crispy Chicken is served with a unique rich mango barbecue sauce with real mango bits. This tangy sauce is drizzled on the crunchy chicken portions beside a steaming cup of white rice. To complete your meal, you can order the Crispy Chicken with any of Red Ribbon’s classic cakes. Among the selections are their famous Black Forest Cake, Chocolate Fudge Cake, or the Dulce de Leche Cake.  Red Ribbon Bakeshop’s Crispy Chicken is available with a slice of Red Ribbon cake and 1 glass of drink for only P148.00 or ala carte for just P90.00.

As soon as we finished eating the Crispy Chicken, Red Ribbon’s staff immediately took our plates. And in less than a minute, we were served with a slice of their Chocolate Fudge Cake. For the past couple of weeks, my sweet tooth had been craving for cake and getting served with this Choco Fudge Cake from Red Ribbon was surely the answer to my cake cravings. The Chocolate Fudge Cake screamed, looked and tasted chocolate all over it and I simply love it!

Red Ribbon’s Chocolate Fudge Cake is available in Regular size for P495.00 and Junior size for only P295.00. This cake is also best paired with a cup of brewed coffee, freshly steeped tea or a warm glass of milk.

And when we thought that we could hardly breath properly with our stomach’s being full from the Crispy Chicken and the Chocolate Fudge Cake, the staff served us a slice of Red Ribbon’s Black Forrest Cake. Red Ribbon’s Black Forest Cake is one of the first cakes that debuted on its shelves when it opened its first branch in 1978 at Tomas Morato, Quezon City. The Black Forest Cake is made up of three layers of chocolate cake, cherries, and cream, swathed and topped with another helping of cream and then garnished with chocolate shavings and cherries. I simply couldn’t resist this one too. It was a long time since I last tasted one and I was surprised at how light the cake was. I didn’t find it hard consuming the whole thing despite being full from the other 2 servings. Red Ribbon’s Black Forrest Cake is available in Regular size for P590.00 and a Junior size for only P370.00

Red Ribbon Cebu’s Cocomall branch sports a new look and more space for their customers who are dining in. Red Ribbon Mango Avenue will soon open too to cater to more customers who simply couldn’t resist getting the best Red Ribbon experience. So watch out for this new store as it will open beside One Mango Avenue Arcade, across National Bookstore.

Before we left the Red Ribbon branch in Cocomall, they surprised us by giving each one of us a box of their Chocolate Fudge Cake to bring home to our families.

I really had a great time tasting Red Ribbon Cebu’s Crispy Chicken Meal, Chocolate Fudge Cake and Black Forrest Cake. I also had a great time meeting other bloggers and catching up with old friends too. Thank you Red Ribbon Cebu!

thoughts on blogging

from http://larl.org/fosston/

someone said that if you are a travel blogger, you need to do more than simply post articles about what you did, where you went and all those stuff bout your itinerary. as claimed, if you are a travel blogger, you should be writing about the significance of your journey or something that is out of the extraordinary. something that will tell more from your travel, not just those basic stuff, something more in-depth…something with soul.

well, to me, it depends on who your target market is. if you are trying to win a nobel peace prize for every article you write or if you are like a high school student who wants to produce a reaction paper out of every journey you made, then i’d probably go for that melodramatic, novel type, documentary article to prove to people i can write and that what i write has content. but if i am someone who belongs to the majority of the crowd who’d simply search stuff on how to’s and tips on traveling, then i’d certainly go for that informative style of writing. coz to me, I believe that people search for travel information online not because they want to know what the writer felt the first time they ate a pear and how they can describe how sandy it felt in their mouth. or perhaps how the smell of honey reminded the writer of her mom’s favorite bath soap.

in my case, i blog about stuff because i want to share information to individuals who need to know what i have to say. maybe inject a few humor here and a few emo stuff there. but i write because i want to know that people who think like me will have access to the kind of information i write. i do admit that i am more of an informative writer rather than the poetic type and i normally find it hard to express my thoughts. whatever i lack in expressing my thoughts through writing, i compensate through showing photos of the stuff i’ve gone to or those stuff i’ve seen, experienced, witnessed. i am not a pro when it comes to taking pictures too but i know it will do and the effort is there. also, quoting from The Photobloggera picture speaks a thousand words. but a thousand words is not enough“.

so i guess it’s really up to your readers and how they perceive of your writing style. we all have different “clients” that we have to cater to. what’s important is you continue doing what you love to do while keeping an open mind on suggestions on how you can improve your craft or how to conform with what the rest is doing and not pass judgement when their writing style failed to meet your standards.

oh well, these are just my thoughts… ;)

Ayala Center Cebu’s ECO DASH: The Bottle School Run

Posted on 28 October 2010 | No responses | 384 views

You are invited to join Ayala Center Cebu’s ECO DASH: The Bottle School Run on November 14, 2010 (Sunday).

The Bottle School Run is all about pioneering one possible solution to help build schools and classrooms for the hundreds of children in the province. Used in many places around the world, self-build construction makes use commonly disregarded PET bottles as hollow blocks and mortar to create the walls of the structure.

It is an alternative way to solve school building problems in less-funded localities in the Philippines and help the environment through recycling.

Your help is needed to build Cebu’s first bottle school with your contribution of two (2) PET bottles and your running fee (which will be used for cement and labor).

ECO DASH: The Bottle School Run on November 14, 2010
