Then I received an email from 88DB’s Newsletter on June 28th saying that the contest was extended! This prompted me to write my own entry and grabbed the chance at getting recognized for the story I chose to share for the contest’s “Travel Beyond the Usual” theme on top of winning the Boracay Getaway (since I have never been to Bora) And since I have a flair for traveling, this was the perfect opportunity to let everyone know of the great time I had with this unusual travel adventure when we went to Caramoan. Here’s my entry to 88DB.com’s Trip Ko, Kakaiba! Travelog Contest: no spaces in between paragraphs

After I submitted my entry, I realized that there were some glitches in grammar, spelling and spacing too (LOL). I can no longer edit them since one of the criteria states that as soon as the entry is uploaded, any alterations will result to disqualification. So I had to leave it as it is. hehehe

Then on July 27th, I received word from 88DB.com saying…

Congratulations! Your entry “The Mysterious Lake of Matukad Island” has been shortlisted in Trip Ko, Kakaiba! Travelog Contest.

I immediately asked Ed if he received a similar email and he confirmed that he did! Right there and then, I was so happy to know that we were among the finalists!

And yesterday, August 11th, I received another confirmation email with the subject: Are you one of the Top 14? And as I scanned the email I saw my name and Ed’s name along with our entries. weeee! I scanned through the other articles and I can say that the rest of the entries have awesome write ups about their travelogs too.

88DB.com will be announcing the winner of the 3-day, 2-night trip to Boracay by September 2, 2010 as stated on the July 27th email. Honestly, whether I win this contest or not, I can already say that being in the Top 14, among all those who joined, is already a dream come true.
